Unable To Buy A Phone Number in Assistantz

SOP: Troubleshooting Number Purchase Issues

Objective:

To troubleshoot and resolve errors encountered while trying to purchase a number on Twilio.

Key Steps:

  1. Check Limits:

    • Access the admin account.

    • Navigate to sub-accounts.

    • Manage limits to ensure the number of phone numbers allowed is sufficient.

    • Adjust the limit if needed and save changes.

  2. Verify Balance:

    • Ensure there is a balance available for purchase.

    • Add balance at both agency and sub-account levels if required.

    • Click on balance, add funds, and input credit card details.

    • Activate automatic payment for convenience.

  3. Resolve Bad Request Error:

    • If encountering a bad request error, check for the following:

      • Sufficient balance.

      • Availability of the area code.

      • Admin permissions to make the purchase.

    • Adjust permissions by editing account settings and adding necessary permissions.

    • Invite clients or additional team members as needed for purchasing permissions.

  4. Explore Alternate Area Codes:

    • If the error persists due to area code unavailability, try different area codes until a suitable one is found.

    • Twilio may not have certain area codes available due to wholesale restrictions.

Cautionary Notes:

  • Ensure to check and adjust both the number limits and balance to avoid purchase errors.

  • Verify permissions and area code availability to troubleshoot bad request errors effectively.
